Built in 1985, this is one of the earliest 3.5L petrol V8 (3528cc) Land Rovers, and now registered “Historic”, but with a whole new life ahead of it with a rebuilt engine fitted with Electronic Fuel Injection, newly refurbished gearbox and transmission, new exhaust system, wiring loom, lights, fully new or meticulously rebuilt engine components, and all new suspension. Engine 3528cc v8 petrol Engine Number: 21G00273 Fuel System: Converted to Lucas 14CUX Electronic Fuel Injection for turn-key starting. Created with a manual choke starter, we've invested in refitting the original engine with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system for turn-key starting. Immobiliser: A Land Rover immobiliser is fitted, taken from the more modern Land Rover model(s). Type 10AS. The immobiliser disables the engine-crank (starter), and has an independent alarm. A Defender never feels complete without a rack, so I repurposed a 1980s Defender farm rack into a dual rack system. Tested at 200 lbs, these galvanized racks are painted with Black Country Paint's British Military coating in matt black. The original farm-jack is refurbished and installed behind the front seats. We recovered the dashboard and steering wheel with matching canvas, and created a middle seat in the front. Comes with optional colour- matching grey grille and original Land Rover steering wheel. The tub mat, of the same waterproof waxed canvas as the canopy, is fitted with removable aluminum rails for carrying cargo. An original style telescoping bottle jack and fittings, Heritage Trust Certificate, and 400 build photos accompany the purchase.
